Den som försöker logga in på “Team trading” möts av beskedet att daytradingskolan är inställd, och att ingen undervisning lägre ges.
Vad kan ha hänt?
Oliver Velez är en av Amerikas färgstarkaste och mest välkända personligheter. Grundare av Pristine, men valde för en del år sedan att sälja sin andel och starta Oliver Velez Management. Senare kom detta att ombildas med det nya namnet “Team trading”. Som mest och störst hade skolan 2000 elever. Det var ett av amerikas snabbast växande företag, med tentakler utöver hela världen.
Att allt inte stod rätt till förstod nog de flesta när Paul Lange, som alltid varit Oliver Velez hjälpreda, plötsligt återanställdes på Pristine, amerikas ledande daytradingskola. Det skakade om, eftersom att en av de duktigaste medarbetarna Ron Wagner, samtidigt klargjorde att han inte ville vara på Pristine, så länge som Paul Lange arbetade där.
Vad som hänt är inte helt lätt att förstå. Några bloggar ger ledtråden att det är en konflikt mellan Oliver Velez och Charles Vaccaro.
Följande brev, publicerat i mars 2010, och utsänt till Team Tradings medlemmar antyder att det pågår någon slags rättegång. Oliver Velez klargör att daytrading varit hans stora intresse, men att han gjort ett misstag, och nu har som sitt intresse att separera från sin kollega Charles Vaccaro.

Dear Traders:
Trading and teaching the art to others is my life. It is what I truly believe I was born to do and it is the only thing I’ve done for the past 20 years. I believe many of you who signed up for my Trade For Life programs felt that this was true and believed in the vision and dream I had and continue to have for traders of all kind. It is not and never has been my desire to leave those who trusted in me, nor is it my desire to renege on the promises made to each of you. That I could never do. And I won’t.
My only desire has been to separate myself from Charles Vacarro, whom I believe to be one of the biggest mistakes of my career. I’m demonstrating in real life what I have taught each of you to do in your trading, which is to rid yourself of your bad trades, however difficult and whatever the cost. This error of mine must be removed from my life. I tried to accomplish this by quietly going away and allowing those left behind to continue the good work I began some three years
ago. Unfortunately, Charles Vacarro’s suing me in court prevented that. His claim is that my desire to help people build long-term wealth in their retirement accounts directly conflicts with the efforts of TeamTrading’s model of teaching and funding day traders. We all know that is not true.
This senseless fight has never been about competitive issues or business in general. It’s all about an ill-devised attempt to wrestle my shares away from me for nothing by, preventing me from moving on, while at the same time, keeping me in the dark and locked out of my own firm. Charles Vacarro has made it clear in meetings, e-mails and text messages to TeamTrading employees that his only goal is to ruin my good name, bankrupt me personally by running up legal fees because he has “no intention of settling,” and to “send me back to my basement in ‘Da Bronx’ where I belong.”
Once Paul Lange, Dr. Todd Hansen, Dr. Daniel Mielcarski, Demetrius Wright, Nicoma Campbell, and Michael Masem realized that Mr. Vacarro’s legal efforts were nothing more than a personal vendetta against the founder and visionary of the firm they held so dear, they all resigned, and stated as much in their resignations letters. Many of them showed up in court with me to personally speak with the judge, despite one of the biggest snowstorms in northeast history.
They did this out of honor, respect and dignity, not as an attempt to hurt the firm, as it has on many occasions been suggested by Mr. Vacarro and his regime.
While I cannot speak in greater detail about the case, the letter that was sent out to traders by Mr. Vacarro contained information that leads people to believe that trading was halted because of the open case against me. That is not true.
Charles informed both my attorney and me that he revoked trading because the traders had begun to lose bigger day in and day out and he was tired of it. In fact, he told us quite frankly that by forcing the stoppage, he was doing everyone a favor, whether they liked it or not.
Needless to say, this put a big damper on our attempts to come to an agreement, but we remain hopeful that in light of how damaging the decision to wage a personal war with me has been, that some resolution is near. I hope, I hope, I hope.
So, for the record, the revocation of your trading has nothing whatever to do with me or the case being waged against me. There is no agreement of sorts as yet between the parties and won’t be unless I’m allowed to separate myself from Charles Vacarro and move on as originally planned. No one has the right to force another to do business with them. No one has a right to force me to keep and hold my bad trade.
My desire to rid my self of what I consider to be a bad trade has no bearing on you. I care deeply about each one of you and will continue to support you as long as I live and as long as you’ll allow me. If Charles Vacarro truly has the interest of the firm and its traders at heart, he can end the nonsense right now, this very second. I’m asking only to be allowed to go my separate way, to move on without him. I refuse to share my future with him, despite his many requests for me do so. I refuse to continue in any relationship whatsoever with him. He represents a chapter of my life, which I care to keep closed forever. The sooner he can accept this, the faster we all can move on in peace.
