The most powerful company in the world? Google knows what you will search for before you type it in with your keyboard. Google knows more about your family than you do. Information is power, google has it all.
Few projects Google is working on, among many other
- Vision to put up globally free internet (broadband balloons available to everyone at a very low cost)
- Currently developing self-driven cars (what will happen when google buys, let’s say Addison Lee taxi service? We suddenly have self-driven taxis. Makes sense that the provider of directions and street-level-data for all locations creates cars that will take you there? I think so.
- They are acquiring robot companies every year, building up the base for the future – robots. Setting up elevators to space and makes robots available to perform all sorts of mundane tasks
- Smart thermostats, changing temperature and climate automatically after your comfort and saving energy cost
- Owner of Android, 79% (!) of the global smartphone market
- Google glasses, the bizarre project few years ago. A bit more realistic today. Basically, shifts everything from your smartphone or google account to you as a head-up display/ glasses. Able to take phone calls, send texts, take photos/videos, show maps, google and much much more (runs on Android).
All in all, Google is thinking huge and outside the box, whatever they do – it will be massive. In 200 years we won’t see google as the search engine company, we will see google as the company that cured cancer.
Google could definitely be one of the few mega companies that has gone up 10 times in the past 10 years and still has an equally huge upside going forward.
Larry Page is the man! The best CEO in the world
Adjusted for net debt Google is traded about PE 21 for 2014 years profits. Probably one of the strongest financial positions among the large cap companies with 60 billion USD in cash on hand. Backed by so much innovation, information edge, the best CEO in the world (as I see it) and the strong financial position I can’t see how google can’t succeed.
Long term risks? The search engine markets gets regulated or their projects fails? Don’t really know, feel free to help me out
